ACI and students from the UAMS College of Public Health surveyed more than 1,000 people on their experiences renting in Arkansas. The surveys formed the basis for a report called “Out of Balance” that has received national attention.
ACI and partner organizations are now working on a Health Impact Assessment of proposed legislation to set basic standards for all rental property in the state. The project is funded by the Pew Charitable Trust. Over the next year ACI will reach out to renters, landlords, health professionals and other stakeholders in the community to gather their input on housing and health.
